Since joining the United States Navy and after the birth of my son, I have strived to be grounded in my faith and committed to spiritual, professional, and cultural growth. After several years of political activism and electoral politics, I became enlightened to the plight and depth of many flawed and corrupt institutions in our city, state, and country. Like never before, we have to protect and conserve our legacy of liberty, justice, and freedom.

Derron believes that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their zip code or economic background. He plans to support public, charter, and private schools, ensuring parents have the freedom to choose the best educational path for their children.

I received a G.E.D. at 16 in Northwest Regional Youth Center but joined the Navy and learned what it means to live my core values, which continue to allow me to serve and advocate for others.
